BROAD LEARNING THROUGH A CATHOLIC LENS

Our Core Curriculum consists of specific courses in the great Liberal Arts tradition, including theology and natural science. Comprising one-half of your overall education, the Core Curriculum will not only build your general understanding of a variety of topics, but it will also give you the chance to encounter God and His creation more completely.

Every student at Â鶹´«Ã½¸²Ãð¼Ç takes required courses from our Core Curriculum. These courses enrich the mind while encouraging discussion among professors and fellow students. Take a look at the breadth of core courses you’ll take while at AMU:

  • Math Requirement (MATH 110, 150, OR 151)
  • RETP 101 & 102: Rhetoric and Poetics I and II
  • HIST 101 & 102: Western Civilization I and II
  • Foreign Language I (& II for some majors)
  • THEO 105: Sacred Scripture
  • THEO 205: Sacred Doctrine
  • PHIL 205: Nature and Person
  • PHIL 206: Ethics
  • POLT 203: American Civilization
  • Natural Science with Laboratory I (& II for some majors)
  • Theology Capstone (THEO 400, THEO 305, THEO 315, or THEO 390);
  • PHIL 300: Metaphysics (except Nursing majors)
