The American Academy of Catholic Scholars and Artists (“The Academy”) is dedicated to sparking renewed interest and discussion about the artistic and intellectual traditions of the Catholic Church. The Academy supports and brings together respected thinkers in Catholic leadership to discuss the issues facing our country, the Faith in our nation and the Church at large. The Academy awards memberships, fellowships and visiting scholarships to scholars and artists in the United States who reflect the breadth and depth of Catholic intellectual and artistic traditions.
The Academy also looks to future generations and endeavors to identify the most promising young scholars and artists, providing them with mentorship and support as they rise in roles of civil and Church leadership. While the vast majority of society ignores or despises the Church’s intellectual contributions throughout the centuries, The Academy seeks to shine as a light to the world, to evangelize our fellow man by launching projects and task forces to share the priceless treasures of the Catholic Church’s artistic and scholarly heritage.
